Ilyenkor a legszebbek a temetők, legtöbb a virág és sötétedés után a sok-sok égő gyertya messzire világlik.<br /> <br /> Most a legaktuálisabb, hogy az almádi temető történetéről essék náhány szó. Ismeretes, hogy Almádi egyházilag 1935-ig Vörösberényhez tartozott, így a temetési szertartásokat évszázadokon keresztül a mindenkori berényi plébános vagy lelkész végezte. A világi anyakönyvezés bevezetése (1895) előtt csupán egyházi anyakönyvezés volt és így minden elhunyt almádi lakos ez idáig Vörösberényben volt anyakönyvezve és eltemetve. A helyzet lényegében 1907-ig nem változott.<br /> <br /> Az 1907. július 17-én tartott rendkívüli közgyűlésén az almádi képviselő-testület határozatot hozott, amelyben a községi temető rendtartásáról alkotott szabályrendeletét elfogadta. Az akkori törvények értelmében a vörösberényi körjegyző 1089/1907 szám alatt ezt a szabályrendeletet a vármegye törvényhatósági bizottságához jóváhagyásra felterjesztette. A bizottság ezt elfogadta azzal, hogy „Egyidejűleg felhívja a községi képviselő-testületet, hogy amennyiben községi hullaház felállítva nem volna, ennek felállításáról pótlólag gondoskodjék.” Hullaház nem volt ez időben, ami kiderül a következőkből.<br /> <br /> Az almádi jegyző felterjesztette a balatonalmádi képviselő-testület 1910. február 7-én tartott rendkívüli közgyűlésének határozatát, amelyben kimondta a testület, hogy a községben hullaházat állíttat fel. Ezt egyébként már 1909. december 11-i közgyűlésükön is elhatározták. Az építést Plank Károly és Mihály vállalkozókra bízták 2000 korona elfogadott költséggel. A vármegye törvényhatósági bizottsága ezt jóváhagyta a bemutatott tervekkel együtt.<br /> <br /> Ha megfigyeljük az első Almádira vonatkozó jelentést a vörösberényi körjegyző adta, a második Balatonalmádira vonatkozót pedig az almádi jegyző. Ebből kiviláglik néhány jelentős adat a város történetéhez.<br /> <br /> - 1908-ig az Almádi község elnevezést használták<br /> <br /> - 1908-ban megszínt a körjegyzőség és mindkét település nagyközségi rangot nyert.<br /> <br /> - 1908. augusztus 4-én mindkét nagyközség jegyzői állására pályázatot írtak ki.<br /> <br /> - 1908-ban életbe lépett az az 1898. évi törvény, miszerint almádi neve ezentúl Balatonalmádi.<br /> <br /> Sajnos a kérelmek mellékletei a zivataros időkben elkallódtak. Ugyanis a megyétől jóváhagyó záradékkal ellátva küldték vissza az épület tervét.
