Veszprémben, a piarista gimnáziumban 1895-ben érettségizett. Egyetemi tanulmányokat Budapesten, Bécsben, Lipcsében és Genfben végzett. Ál-lamtudományból doktorált, 1898-ban lipcsei és genfi tanulmányúton vett részt. Közigazgatási ismeretekkel is rendelkezett. 1899-ben Veszprém vármegye szolgabírája Devecserben, 1907-től belügyi fogalmazó. 1910-ben a nagyvázsonyi kerület országgyűlési képviselője. A Tanácsköztársaság bukása után az FKgP szervezője, 1920-tól képviselője. Alsóörsi házát a húszas évek elején vásárolta, aktív részt vállalt a falu életében, a közbirtokosság és a fürdőegyesület munkájában. A Balaton kultusz élenjáró szószólójaként élt, elhívatottsággal és nagy felkészültséggel szolgálta a Magyar Tenger ügyét. Szerkesztette a Balatoni Kurír c. lapot, a tó ügyeivel foglalkozó több szervezetnek, klubnak volt a vezetője, vagy vezetőségi tagja. A Veszprémi Takarékpénztár igazgatósági elnöke és a Balatoni Halászati Rt elnök-vezérigazgatója. Írásaiban támogatta a Tihanyi Nemzeti Park és a Balaton körüli autósztráda építését.
