A kémiai tudományok kandidátusa (1981). 1965-től gyakornok, tanársegéd, adjunktus, egyetemi docens a Veszprémi Vegyipari Egyetemen, 1992 és 2000 között tan-székvezető egyetemi docens, 2000-től egyetemi docens a Veszprémi Egyetemen. Kutatási területe: szilárdtest-kémia. Műszaki kerámiák, csúcstechnológia, szilikátipari műveletek és termékek c. tárgyak előadója. Hatvannál több diploma, közel harminc szakdolgozat, nyolc doktori munka, hat kandidátusi és két PhD-dolgozat vezetője volt. Nevéhez fűződik az anyagmérnöki szak tantervének kidolgozása és a szak elfogadtatási folyamatának menedzselése. A European Ceramic Society Council Board és az Educational Committee tagja, Magyarország képviselője, az MTA Anyagtudományi és Szilikátkémiai Munkabizottság társelnöke, a VEAB Szilikáttechnológia Munkabizottság elnöke, 1988–1998 között a Ceramic International, 1998-tól az Advances in Technology of Materials and Materials Processing Journal szerkesztőbizottságának tagja volt. Ötvenkilenc folyóiratcikk, negyvennél több publikáció nemzetközi konferencia-kiadványban, két tucat nemzetközi konferencián bemutatott poszter, közel félszáz magyar nyelvű előadás, több szabadalom, továbbá számtalan tanulmány és 20-nál több ismeretterjesztő cikk és előadás szerzője, ill. társszerzője.<br /> <br /> ==Művei==<br /> <br /> *A kerámiák felületi tulajdonságainak kialakulása.
