A József Attila Gimnáziumban érettségizett, utána asztalos-tanuló, majd betanított munkásként hídépítésen dolgozott. Közben öntevékeny színjátszó kör tagja. 1956-ban építészmérnöki oklevelet szerzett. Segédszínész Debrecenben, de rendkívüli tehetségével hamarosan kitűnt, nemsokára már vezető színész Miskolcon. 1962-től a Vígszínház tagja. 1971 őszén a Veszprémi Petőfi Színházban színész és rendező. Több mint ötven filmben játszott. Szenvedélyes hangú, egyéni írásaival a művészet az egyéniség szabadságáért emelt szót. 1975-től Érdemes Művész, 1966-ban Jászai-díjat, 1970-ben Balázs Béla-díjat kapott.<br /> <br /> ==Művei==<br /> <br /> *Ködszurkáló.
