Még abban az évben elfoglalta munkahelyét Adásztevelen a ref. elemi iskolában. Itt tanított 1919-ig, amikor elnyerte a dákai ref. iskola tanítói állását. Nyugdíjba mentéig, 1948 közepéig volt a falu mindenese. 1926-ban igazgatói kinevezést kapott. Pályafutása alatt fejlődött az elemi iskola 8 osztályos általános iskolává és 1944-ben lett teljessé a 8 osztály, amikor 90 gyermeket tanított egyedül a községben. Kiváló tanítói munkássága elismeréseként a Pápai Református Egyházmegye kuratóriumának tagjává és a Vármegyei Tanítóegyesület alelnökévé választották. Bemutató tanításokat tartott a Pápai Tanítóképző hallgatóinak. Már Adásztevelen énekkart alakított és ezt tette Dákán is. A dákai énekkar hamarosan ismertté vált a környéken. Jó kapcsolata volt a községben élő Batthyány Ilona grófnővel, aki anyagiakkal is támogatta népművelői munkáját. 1926-ban cigányzenekar alakult, az 1920-as években, majd 1938-ban gazdasági iskolát, ezüstkalászos tanfolyamot szervezett. Elnöke az általa szervezett Gazdakörnek, a Hitelszövetkezetnek és a levente egyesületnek. Vezetője az olvasókörnek, az ifjúsági szervezetnek és a tűzoltó egyesületnek. Pályafutása utolsó évében a 48-as forradalom centenáriumán ösztönzésére a falu ifjúsága több mint 200 hársfát telepített a főutcán.
