A föld- és ásványtani tudományok kandidátusa.<br /> <br /> =Élete=<br /> <br /> A budapesti tudományegyetemen tanári, majd bölcsészdoktori oklevelet szerzett. 1924-től az egyetemen tanársegéd, később adjunktus, 1960-tól tanszékvezető tanár, éveken át dékán. 1934-től szerkesztette a Hidrológiai Közlönyt, 1937-ben újra megindította a Földtani Értesítőt. A Magyarhoni Földtani Társaságnak éveken át titkára, a Barlangtani Társaságnak egy ideig elnöke. A hidrológiában neve összeforrott a forráskutatással. 1955-től részt vett a karsztkutatás szervezésében. Feltérképezte Kékkút, Balatonfüred, Várpalota, Pétfürdő és Inota ásványos és gyógyvizeit, valamint Veszprém megye területén lévő egyéb forrásokat.
